• With the European cruise company Color Line, the next company to adopt DNV GL’s VeChain-based My Care solution for corona virus prevention.
  • The My Care assessment was carried out for all six Color Line passenger and cargo ships that operate between Norway and Denmark, Germany and Sweden.

My Care, the corona virus prevention solution jointly developed by DNV GL and VeChain, is enjoying increasing adoption. After Viking Lines, the international hotel group InterContinental and the world’s leading steel company ArcelorMittal recently implemented the VeChainThor blockchain-based solution, DNV GL has now evaluated the cruise company Color Line using the My Care™ evaluation methodology.

Color Line AS is the largest cruise line operating on routes to and from Norway. The company is also one of the leading operators in Europe, offering passenger and freight transport. According to yesterday’s publication of DNV GL, DNV GL has verified the cruise line and determined that Color Line’s infection prevention processes and measures are sufficient to ensure people’s safety and comply with local regulations.

The My Care assessment included Color Line’s management systems on all six passenger and cargo ships operating between Norway and Denmark, Germany and Sweden, and at the terminals. By passing the verification, Color Line is the first company in Norway to be verified by DNV GL for systems related to the management of infection risks.

As Anette Aaser-Stene, Compliance Officer at Color Line, explained, this shows that „Color Line’s ships and terminals are safe when adequate systems are in place for both passengers and employees“. Passengers can find the My Care QR Code on board and open DNV GL’s assessment statement, which contains more details in a consumer-friendly way and is stored on the VeChainThor blockchain for added confidence and integrity.

Lin Jacobsen Hammer, Sustainability and Training Manager Norway DNVGL commented on passing Color Line’s verification

Congratulations to Color Line on achieving the „My Care – Infection Prevention Ready“ trust mark for their ships. The active building of trust in their infection prevention efforts shows Color Line’s strong commitment to ensure appropriate and compliant infection risk management measures. Third party verification provides assurance that the right measures have been taken to ensure people’s safety, which provides transparency and builds trust among passengers and other stakeholders.

Already two weeks ago, VeChain co-founder Sunny Lu pointed out the transformative potential of My Care and commented on the adaptation as follows

As we look at the new normality brought about by COVID-19, the need for trust has never been more important. blockchain will be one of the driving forces to strengthen confidence in data integrity, corporate credibility and mutual trust in multi-party collaboration. With VeChain ToolChain™ we have great confidence to support DNV GL’s digital transformation strategy to develop more digital solutions such as My Story™ and My Care and to expand and improve their offerings to serve their customers worldwide.
